Tips & Tricks
How to pick like a pro ?
Did you know that there’s a picking technique that ensures you get the apple you want, without damaging the branches or impacting next year’s crop?
It’s quite simple! Gently grasp the apple in one hand, turn it a quarter turn and lift the bottom of the apple towards the sky.
A perfectly ripe apple will unhook itself, with no extra effort required.
How to store apples to last longer ?
Apples have a quality that berries don’t: the ability to be stored for several months if certain conditions are met.
To do so, simply place freshly picked apples in a plastic bag or tray in a refrigerator between 0° and 4° Celsius. This cold environment with limited air circulation slows down the ripening process.
For crispier apples even after several weeks in the fridge, place a damp cloth in the bag or tray with your apples to keep them fresh.
